On November of 2018, George Toriello sent information on Leonard A. Knies, whose name is listed on the Original Wall Unit at Hackensack High School, revealing his service during
World War II
.

He was born on August 11, 1924 and graduated Hackensack High School in 1942.
A 1930 census states that his family was living on 35 Emerald Street in Hackensack.

Leonard A. Knies enlisted in the Army June 17, 1943 and was released on December 29, 1945 according to U.S. department of Veterans affairs 1850 to 2010.

An interesting note on the grave marker I just happened to see it while walking in the cemetery looking for someone else and took the photo not knowing George Toriello had researched him.
